Happy birthday to Sunny the dolphin at Marineland Dolphin Adventure! He's turning 34 today!
Sunny, who was originally nicknamed "Jan," is the son of Nellie, the somewhat famous captive dolphin who lived longer than any Bottlenose Dolphin had ever been recorded living (she died at the age of 61). His father was Rusty, a uniquely colored "blond" dolphin.
Sunny has spent his entire life at the Marineland Dolphin Adventure in Florida, since the day of his birth on January 12, 1984. He is the father of three calves, Boomer, 'Oli, and Surge, who all currently reside at Marineland. Sunny can usually be found hanging out with the other adult male dolphins, Zac, Hemingway, Tomo, and Aqe.
