False Killer Whale Sightings in Florida

FALSE KILLER WHALE


Currently, False Killer Whales have been reported stranding on Florida's northwest and southwest coast, and in the Florida Keys.

January 15, 2017: Nearly 100 False Killer Whales stranded near Highland Beach in Everglades National Park

June 5, 1986: Thirteen False Killer whales stranded on Key West, but sadly, all died.

July 23, 1976(?): Four False Killer Whales were spotted swimming around Pine Island Sound, and later stranded on sandbars in the intercoastal.
